No. Barmah Hats Australia do not sell direct to the public. Use our stockist locator find a local or online retailer to purchase your Barmah Hat.

Our Barmah Hats factory is not open to the public for visits or retail. We do not sell direct to the public and recommend checking out our Stockist Locator to find a Barmah Hats stockist close to you.

Unfortunately we can’t replace your old Barmah Hat. We can only replace a hat if there is a valid manufacturing fault present, not for wear and tear. If you believe there is a manufacturing fault in the hat please contact our friendly team through our customer contact form.

Our classic 1018 Squashy Kangaroo style is the most popular kangaroo leather hat. For cattle leather our most popular style has got to be the 1060 Foldaway Bronco! The most popular canvas hat we have is the 1057 Canvas Drover.

Yes! We have a collection of suede hats for little heads called Kidz Lidz. Our 1015 Kidz Lidz hat comes in two sizes XS (52cm) and XXS (50cm) and is recommended for ages 1 – 3 years old. Check out the Kidz Lidz collection here.
Still looking for right size hat for your little one? Our small and medium size hats (on all collections) are likely to fit children aged over 3 years old. Make sure you follow our Hat Size Guide to find the right size hat for your little one. -

If you’re in between sizes we always recommend going for the larger size. Choosing the larger size gives you the ability to add Barmah Hats resizing tape (towelling tape) inside the crown, increasing comfort and gets the hat closer to your ideal size!

If your hat is too big we recommend you contact the retailer to arrange an exchange. Alternatively hats that are too big can be padded using Barmah Hats resizing tape inside the hat to reduce the size difference. Talk to your retailer about resizing tape options.

Kangaroo Leather is so strong due to the unique make up of the collagen fibres of the Kangaroo, elastin is evenly dispersed in kangaroo hide which allows the leather to stretch increasing tensile strength of the leather substantially. Another core reason why Kangaroo leather is one of the strongest leathers in the world is the low fat content and thin grain layer that doesn’t require shaving unlike other leathers like cattle. Kangaroo Leather is often used in motorcycle protective clothing as it is lightweight, supple yet incredibly protective in a crash.

Marks and scratches on our kangaroo leather are considered a natural feature due to the harsh Australian environment.

Yes. Our kangaroo hides are obtained under the Australian Federal Government's Wildlife Protection Act. Crocodile materials (teeth and hide) used in our 1033 Outback Crocodile Band hats are sourced from CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) approved suppliers.

Yes. Under the Environment Protection and Biodervistity Conservation Act 1999, and in accordance with CITES resolution conf. 12.9, no permit is required for the export, in personal baggage, of up to four (4) items manufactured from Australian Crocodylus Porosus (Saltwater Crocodile) or Crocodylus johnsoni (Freshwater Crocodile)

Yes! Our canvas hats are made from Australian Canvas manufactured in the Hunter Valley by Wax Converters Textiles (WCT). WCT is a proudly Australian owned and operated manufacturer.
